| *Occupational Therapist Rehab Services | FT, PRN Days | The Occupational/Physical Therapist provides therapy services to children from birth to 21 years of age and other patients as assigned, to restore function and to prevent disability following disease or injury. This individual performs evaluations, planning, intervention, consultation and training under the supervision of the Director for Rehabilitation Services or designee. Pool therapy experience is a plus. A graduate of an approved professional school of Occupational/Physical Therapy is required. The therapist must be licensed to practice or eligible for licensure in the District of Columbia. One clinical affiliation in pediatrics and/or experience with children is desired. The SRN provides clinical guidance and management support to all staff members, including evaluation process and application of Human Resource policies to assigned staff members. This individual communicates and collaborates with admissions, the interdisciplinary team, support services, physicians and staff members to enhance quality patient care. A BSN is required and credits towards a Master’s degree is preferred. Five years of experience, of which at least three of those years should be in Pediatrics. At least one year of experience as a Charge Nurse, Supervisor or hold a Management position is required. The SRN assumes responsibility for continued education and maintain skills, demonstrates excellence in Pediatric Nursing, demonstrates leadership ability and demonstrates the ability to implement administrative and organization principles. This individual also demonstrates the ability to implement good interpersonal relations with all members of the hospital staff. The SRN also demonstrates knowledge of behavioral and scientific principles. A current DC RN license, current CPR and PALS certification is required. Membership in a professional organization, certification in Pediatric Nursing, Rehab Nursing and/or Nursing Administration is preferred.
